In 1968 our late Pastor Elias R. Mahinay came to Surigao as a missionary from Bible Baptist Church, Mandaluyong, Manila. His desire is to reached out his mother’s relatives and bring them the gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

    He arrived in Surigao and stayed in his relatives at Sitio Tunga-tunga Barangay Silop and Cayawan, Malimono and it was in these places were the work of the Lord was started thru Bible Studies. Due to the language barrier he tried to learn the local Visayan dialect and then applied what he learned with the Word of God.
